Successful candidates will demonstrate the following abilities through their application documents and the compulsory face-to-face interview with the Dean of IBR Institute of International Business Relations. The selection for interview is at the discretion of the Admissions Team.
Intellectual Capacity
We require a good undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification. We do not accept candidates with no academic prior degree. Applicants will be invited for an interview in which the intellectual capacity of the candidates will be tested.
Management Potential
We look for candidates who can assume leadership roles, not people with purely head knowledge about business disciplines. We therefore inquire information on work experience and past performance when assessing suitability of applicants as future leaders. Students in our current classes have an average of 6 years postgraduate work experience. However, admission may be granted to candidates with less than three years work experience if they can present superior academic credentials and evidence of truly outstanding leadership, through their professional and personal experiences. Candidates with less than two years of working experience are not accepted.
Personal Motivation & Maturity
The IBR International MBA is a demanding experience which can change your life. We look for evidence that participants will be reflective, energetic, mature and realistic as well as ambitious and highly motivated.
Team Skills
We place particular emphasis on working in smaller groups. We need to be certain that candidates will share in the development of their fellow team members and contribute to the learning environment of IBR.
International Exposure
Our MBA is a truly global programme with teaching staff from more than 10 countries. The students who benefit most are those with an international outlook, or those who can build on existing international exposure.
Language Ability
Our MBA Programme is taught in English. If English is not your native language you will need to take the TOEFL, IELTS or other similar test. Please contact your local IBR office for details with respect to other tests. Please note: This requirement is not compulsory for applicants who have lived in an English speaking country for over 2 years, or who have been educated in English.
